Maryland Multicultural Coalition

Another excellent Edublogs.org weblog

Welcome

The Maryland Multicultural Coalition, the state chapter for the National Association for Multicultural Education, was founded thirty years ago and then later joined NAME when NAME as organized nineteen years ago. Our membership is made up of PreK-12 educators, higher education educators, and community members. We hold Executive Board meetings once a month during the school year and sponsor an annual conference usually in the late spring. We publish and mail a newsletter four times per year. In 2007, our chapter hosted the national conference in Baltimore at the Hyatt Regency, Inner Harbor.

In the spring we sponsor the spring conference in partnership with the prek-12 school systems across the state. These events usually have between 250-500 educators attend. The conference usually has 20-30 breakout sessions, a keynote speaker, cultural interludes of dance, music or the arts as well as vendors to visit. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of our conferences or at our board meetings. If you are interested in joining, please contact Debbie Misiag at dmisiag@yahoo.com
